Our Team – Our Doctors


Doctor
Paul Hinkle, D.V.M.

Dr. Hinkle is originally from Gastonia and moved to Rutherford County in 1993. He earned his B.S. degree in microbiology from NC State University in 1989 and later graduated from NC State College of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. After graduating from vet school, Dr. Hinkle practiced large animal medicine for 15 years. He later purchased the small animal practice in 2006, and now focuses solely on it.

In what spare time he has, he enjoys hunting/fishing, riding his motorcycle, woodworking, and hiking. Dr. Hinkle has three “babies,” his faithful blue heeler, Mikey; and two cats, Lucy; and his stalker Prissa.

Doctor
Roger Tessneer, D.V.M.

Dr. Tessneer graduated from NC State University in 1975 with a B.S. degree in animal science. From there he obtained his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University in 1980. He owned and operated three practices in Gastonia for many years before coming to Hinkle’s Pet Hospital in 2008. He is our dental guru.

Dr. Tessneer is an incredible chef and keeps us all well fed. He enjoys cooking, gardening, hunting/fishing and singing in his church choir.

Doctor
Rod Eddings, D.V.M.

Dr. Rod Eddings joined our staff February 2012, and hails from Nebraska. He has practiced for 30 years primarily with pet animals. Having relatives in the Carolinas, Dr. Eddings decided to move to God’s country.

He enjoys archery, hunting, and fishing. He and his wife are tolerated by their German Shepherd cross, Syrus; and three cats, Sarah, Petey and Junior.

Technician
Wayne Johnson

An ex-cornhusker, moved here from Wahoo Nebraska in 1999 and hasn’t been able to escape since. Wayne started at Hinkle’s Pet Hospital as a veterinary technician in August of 2011. Has a soft spot for the little ones and regularly tortures Captain Jack Sparrow by getting the spots his ghost leg can’t reach! Has two “babies,” Xena the warrior Pomahua Princess, and Shiva, the feline ice queen.

Jesse O’Dell

Jesse has been with Hinkle’s Pet Hospital since January of 2012. He was born and raised in Rutherford County. Jesse graduated from Cleveland County Community College with an AA in Radiographic Technology. He was an x-ray technician for a year at Cleveland Regional Hospital before deciding to give the veterinary field a try. Jesse likes to play golf during his time off. He has two dogs, Bonnie and Bruiser.

Nancy Harmon

Nancy has worked in the veterinary field for 30+ years. She worked with Dr. C.E. Cox when she was a teenager and has continued in the field of veterinary medicine ever since. Nancy loves all animals and has a small farm which includes horses, chickens, dogs, cats and a spoiled goat. Her hobbies include horseback riding and raising orphaned animals.

Kelly Roper

A Rutherford county original, Kelly has been with the hospital since 2014. Kelly enjoys helping patients and their owners and always takes time to answer questions and mentor ne staff and volunteers. He loves exotic pets with an emphasis on the cold blooded , however his most recent family member, his 2 year old daughter , has been stealing his heart as of late……

Since Kelly wasn’t quite able to handle a household of this magnitude he allowed himself to become enslaved to a beautiful young maiden – Amanda – and they lived happily ever after.

Catherine Greene

Catherine has been working in veterinary hospitals for several years . She resides with her husband Keith and 2 biys , Harvey and Thatcher . She has 2 dogs and 3 horses, Booboo, Star, and Salem. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family by the creek.

Amanda Henline

Amanda is a native of Rutherford county, Although she spent most of her chid hood being raised at Lake Norman. Amanda has been an employee of Hinkle’s pet hospital since 2014. Before her employment here she worked as a receptionist at Diamond back tactical for 2 ½ years. Amanda recently married Brandon Henline and has two step daughters and currently expecting her third child. Amanda loves to spend time with her family and her three fur babies.

Sarah Brackett

Sarah was born and raised in small town friendly. She has worked at Hinkle’s since April of 2016 ,and loves her job very much. Sarah is currently attending Isothermal Community College in hopes to obtain her certification as a Veterinarian Technician. In her spare time she enjoys the outdoors and photography. Sarah currently has 4 fur babies , two blue heelers and two cats.

Our Team – Our Front Office


Office Manager
Amanda K. Rash

Amanda has lived in Rutherford County her entire life and couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. She has worked in the health care profession for over 19 years with 16 years of management experience. During this time she recieved her X- ray Technician Certification ,Chiropractic Assistant certification, Insurance billing and coding, she served as a medical technician and for 3 years as a specimen processor. Amanda started working at Hinkle’s pet hospital in 2015 part time and has since transitioned into a full time position. She has 2 daughters Katelyn and Madison and is married to Scott Rash, DC. Amanda loves spending time with family, friends and looks forward to learning new things and meeting new people.

Originally from Salem, VA but currently lives in South Carolina. Brittany has been employed by Hinkle’s pet hospital since 2012. She enjoys spending time with family and never passes up the opportunities to love on puppies when they visit the hospital.

Originally from MN. Eric enjoys making fun of others that freak out over the weather here in North Carolina. He and his wife share 2 dogs and 2 cats. Eric loves working with the pets and gets his motivation from helping the furbabies that come to the hospital.
